What is Appearing 什么是象

Xiang or Appearing, as the ontology of Chinese art and a way of non-Western logical way of thinking, is more directly related to the Tao. Tao is the beginning of everything and the Xiang is the present moment where the subject and the object mingle with vigorous vitality.

The installation is an explicitly present moment based on the interaction of the viewer. The video is projected from the point of view of the object and the subject is opposite to it, meeting up in the layers of transparent acrylic plates. This installation allows the images to appear not just in a two-dimensional perspective, but in a more holistic way. The viewer can also influence the movement of the image by waving their hand.

For the video part, I used modelling software to redraw a thousand characters written by Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty and let the camera travel vertically through the whole text. To get the meaning of the text constantly coming to me from a certain source.

象 "作为中国艺术的本体论和一种非西方逻辑思维方式，与 "道 "有着更为直接的关系。道 "是万物之始，"象 "是主体与客体交融的当下，蕴含着旺盛的生命力。

该装置是一个基于观众互动的明确的当下。视频从客体的视角投射，主体与客体相对，在层层透明的亚克力板中交汇。这种装置使图像不仅仅以二维视角出现，而是以一种更加整体的方式出现。观众还可以通过挥手来影响图像的移动。

在视频部分，我使用建模软件重新绘制了宋徽宗的千字文，并让摄像机垂直穿梭于整个文本中。让文字的意义不断地从某个源头向我涌来。
